Monbili terms of use
Version of 1 November 2026
Version in force from the publication date shown in the app.
1. Who we are
Monbili is operated by Monbili Inc, a single-shareholder simplified joint-stock company (SASU) with share capital of 1,000,000 F CFA, registered with the Abidjan RCCM under number CI-ABJ-03-2024-B17-00043, with its registered office at Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (“Monbili”, “we”). Contact: contact@monbili.com.
Monbili is a marketplace. It lets you:
- book a ride with an independent driver (the “rides service”);
- rent a vehicle from an individual or a business, with or without a driver (the “rental service”).
Monbili is neither a carrier nor a car-rental company: rides are provided by independent drivers and rented vehicles belong to their owners (“hosts”). Monbili provides the app, sets prices and service rules, collects in-app payments, and runs support and safety.
2. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using Monbili you accept these terms and the Privacy policy. If a new version materially changes your rights, we will ask you to accept it before you carry on using the service.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract.
- You sign up with an email address, a phone number or a Google account. Your information must be accurate and up to date.
- Your account is personal. You are responsible for what is done with it; tell us at once about any unauthorised use.
- Some features require verification (phone number, ID, driving licence). We may refuse or withdraw a verification if a document is false, expired or unreadable.
4. The rides service
- Upfront price. Before booking you see the price for each vehicle type. It is fixed, except for waiting at the pickup beyond the free minutes, stops or destination changes you ask for on the way, or a significant detour at your request.
- Payment. You pay the driver in cash or by mobile money in the app, as chosen when booking. A mobile-money ride must be paid in the app after arrival; until it is, you cannot book another ride after a short grace period.
- Cancellation. Cancelling is free before a driver is assigned and during the grace period shown in the app. After that, a cancellation fee may apply if one is shown for the vehicle type chosen.
- Conduct. Respect the driver and their vehicle. Any damage you cause may be charged to you.
5. The rental service
- Listings. Hosts describe their vehicle, availability, rules and price. Monbili checks the host’s identity and the vehicle’s papers (registration, insurance) before publication.
- Booking. A booking is confirmed when the host accepts it (or at once with instant booking) and payment is received within the time shown. The total (rental, service fee, any delivery) is shown before you pay.
- Deposit. A deposit may be required. It is charged and then returned after the vehicle comes back, within the time shown, unless the host opens a dispute. Monbili decides deposit disputes from the pickup and return photos and the evidence provided.
- Cancellation. Cancellation terms (and the matching refund) follow the policy chosen by the host and shown on the listing before booking.
- Driving. For self-drive rentals you must hold a valid licence and meet the host’s requirements. You are responsible for fines and offences during the rental.
6. Payments
- Prices are in CFA francs (or the country’s currency) and include Monbili’s service fees where shown. Monbili’s service fees include VAT at the rate in force in the country.
- In-app payments go through our licensed payment providers (mobile money, card). Monbili does not keep your payment codes.
- Refunds go back to the original payment method, within the provider’s timeframe.
7. Safety
- The SOS button alerts Monbili’s safety team at once and, if you saved any, your emergency contacts. In immediate danger, call the emergency services first.
- You can share your trip, report an incident and block a driver, rider or host.
- Ratings must be honest and respectful. We may hide a review that breaks these terms.
8. What is not allowed
You may not use Monbili for anything illegal, harass or discriminate against anyone, provide false documents, get around the platform to pay for a rental outside the app, or harm the service.
9. Suspension and closure
- We may suspend an account for a serious breach, fraud, a safety risk or unpaid sums, after review by our team. You will be told.
- You can close your account at any time in the app, once rides, rentals and money in progress are settled. Your contact details are then erased; some data is kept for the time the law requires (see the Privacy policy).
10. Liability
Monbili connects people and strives for a reliable and safe service. To the extent the law allows, Monbili is not liable for the faults of drivers, hosts or users, nor for indirect loss. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law.
11. Complaints and disputes
Contact our support first, in the app or at contact@monbili.com. Failing an amicable solution, these terms are governed by Ivorian law and disputes fall to the competent courts of Abidjan, subject to consumer-protection rules.
12. Changes
We may change these terms. The date and version are shown in the app. Material changes are announced to you and, where needed, put to you for acceptance.
